African Primates Query #6

Nov 04, 2009 - 20:48 - Tanya Dewey

Query used in Pamela Rasmussen’s Michigan State University summer study course in Uganda, 2008 (Zoology 490, Overseas Study in Zoology, upper division students). Students are asked to consider “What is the expected relationship between number of offspring per reproductive effort and investment in offspring in a species? Are there any special features of primates (African primates in particular) that might affect this relationship? “

This query is appropriate for upper division evolution, zoology, mammalogy, or primatology courses. Or it can be modified to be used in other advanced zoology, evolution, or taxon-specific courses.
