Identification
Phalaenoptilus nuttallii (common poorwill)
Permissions for Use
Common Poorwill (Phalaenoptilus nuttallii). Caprimulgiformes have a pectinate, or comb-like, middle nail. This is used to groom the feathers. The only other group to have these is the herons, Ardeidae.
