Caption
This is a Clapper Rail - a Yuma Clapper rail (Rallus longirostris yumanensis). I hear this call frequently in Tavasci Marsh [Arizona], but I've never seen the caller "in the act". In fact I've only seen the bird once in 8 months! Yuma Clappers are an endangered species with less than 1000 alive on the planet and their presence in Tavasci Marsh [Arizona] and Peck's Lake [Arizona] will go a long way to helping preserve this valuable wetland.
