The Plain Wren (Thryothorus modestus) is well-named. It is plain as a post. Small and plain. Brown. But it sings beautifully and frequently! Here's an example of a high-pitched and questioning song, recorded near our cabin at the Cabinas el Bosque, Monteverde (Costa Rica), 6/17/99.
