Caption
Bay Wrens (Thryothorus nigricapillus) occupy the same niche on the Carribrean slope as the Riverside Wren occupies in the South Pacific slope - dense river and stream galleries. They have, in fact, at times been considered just subspecies. They are a good example of allopatric evolution. Both are wonderful, loud singers.
