This side view of a scorpionfish, known as a Demon Stinger (Inimicus didactylus), can deliver a painful sting with its venomous dorsal spines. It can be hard to detect on the reef, often partially buried in the sand. Active mainly at night, this fish spreads its colorful fins when threatened.
