Herviella claror, South Pacific. The club-like structures extending from the dorsal surface of the slugs and are believed to be mainly for respiration, increasing the surface area of the slugs for direct diffusion of O2/CO2. The aeolids lack gills and pseudobranchs. The dorsal clubs also contain nematocysts taken from cnidarians.
