A land prosobranch from Cuba. The great majority of prosobranch snails are aquatic. However, there are a few taxa that are terrestrial, especially in the tropics.

Chrondropoma presasianumis shown here "walking" on the glass wall of a terrarium. Unlike most other land snails, the entire surface of the foot is not applied to the substratum but only the two outer edges, with alternating waves of progression. Land prosobranch snails are restricted mostly to the tropics and subtropics.
