Caption
Freshwater snail habitat, north temperate region (Michigan). North central and northeastern United States and southern Canada east of the Rocky Mountains have many freshwater bodies of all sizes. The eutrophic ones, and those with "hard" (calcium rich) water, are especially excellent habitats for freshwater mollusks and other aquatic invertebrates. The aquatic vegetation provides desirable surfaces for many kinds of invertebrates.
